Happy New Year

Dec 31st, 2008 | By Stephanie Campisi | Category: Journal

Cracked the 20k mark on the Zombie Love Story* just in time for the new year.  Needless to say, one of my goals for the new year is to finish it, as well as to finish the sequel to Downtown.

No doubt I’ll come up with some more interesting/amusing goals after a few glasses of champagne. Or you can set some goals for me. Why not?

——-

*I really need to start writing vaguely saleable novels.
“What are you working on, Stephanie?”
“Oh, a YA literary zombie love story.”
“Oh. I see. Anything else on the cards?”
“Well, I’ve just completed a steampunk novel about doughnuts and amputees.”
“Perhaps you should stay away from that champagne.”

  1. Some authors wrote their best (if incomprehensible) works under the influence of recreational pharmaceuticals, so I see no reason why you should take the advice of an obviously uneducated barbarian like the one in your discussion above.

Though I’d stay clear of the laudanum if I were you.

  2. Well, given that a lot of my stuff is incomprehensible as is, perhaps I should stay away from augmenting with pharmaceuticals. :)

Hope you had a wonderful time over the break!

  3. That’s probably a fair call.

Had a really good break. I managed to crank out 51k words in November to win Nano for the first time, so now I have to finish writing the story then do the scary editing part.

I also finished the year with two more rejection letters, so at least someone is reading what I write :-)
