I randomly woke up at 5:30am today, and couldn’t get back to sleep. So I decided to do a silly thing and get up and be productive. (Much coffee has since been involved)
I slogged through the last fifty pages or so of Ramsey Campbell’s The Darkest Part of the Woods, and have begun reading Fly By Night by Frances Hardinge, which looks to be a quaint and fun read so far.
I spent most of the afternoon working on Spatterbaum and Zitherbother, my extremely silly middle grade book, and have added a few thousand words to that. I’m currently working on scenes involving poltergeists and orange cakes, and hen houses (ie, huts on fowls’ legs). I’ll hopefully get on to some more Downtown edits either tonight or tomorrow (although tomorrow looks to be quite busy).
And I cooked chocolate muffins. With super chocolatey icing. And hundreds and thousands, because they make everything fabulous (and colourful).
