I was all very excited when I was going through the Melbourne Writers Festival program and madly marking (and booking) events to attend. China Mieville! Hitomi Kanehara! Justine Larbalestier! Scott Westerfeld! Margo Lanagan! And. . .Stephen King? Surely I would have heard a bit of buzz if Stephen King was going to be at the Festival?

Having clicked on his bio to sign up for some sessions, I was a bit disappointed to see that unfortunately Stevie King seems to have taken up a position as Dean of Business and Economics at Monash University, and will be discussing the current economic crisis and the new American administration. I know that all sounds very terrifying, but it’s not quite what I had in mind. . .
