I’m currently writing the last scene of my MG book Spatterbaum and Zitherbother, bringing me to a complete first draft at approximately 60k. Hooray!
Now there’s just the small matter of that delightful thing known as revision. Oh yes. That.

I’m right in the middle of a dramatic scene (yes, dramatic–this new novel even has one of those ‘plot’ thingies!). . .but it’s 8:56 and I really should head off to the day job.

Writing has been hampered somewhat by a trip to Japan and moving house, but I’m getting my teeth (if you’ll pardon the expression) back into the zombie love novel. Even at half past six in the morning.

I’m at 4k on the YA zombie love novel now, and it’s turning into something quite interesting.
I’m writing from two separate first person perspectives, and I’m aiming for quite a deep, thoughtful perspective. I find a lot of first person can be quite chatty, so I’m seeing what I can do/achieve in staying away from [...]

I am having vast amounts of fun with the zombie love novel, and have knocked out about 3k words so far, with hopefully more to come tonight. No, I won’t be participating in NaNo, as I have a holiday to Japan smack bang in the middle of November, which would make things a little difficult.

I’m supposed to be writing a respectable young adult novel about a gambling syndicate at the moment.
But instead I have something called ‘Red Eyes and Blue Lips: A Zombie Love Story’ on my screen.

The second pass-through of Downtown is done.  This was the edit where I added/cut scenes in order to bring out or play down particular characters and plot points.  I think it worked quite well, although there are still a few inconsistencies I need to iron out.
